Hey, this is only 95 calories per serving! So, this is the same beer as the light beer, but they added lime., I was quite pleasantly surprised by how good the light beer was, and I think they may nail this one. Mind you, that 95 calories is, it turns out, for a 12-oz serving. They say that on the side of a 16-oz can. As far as I know, this isn't sold in 12-oz cans (but I really don't know for sure).
I would argue it is nearly identical to the previous beer, aside from the fact that this has more head, and it also retains it better. Is it going to leave lacing? Well, no. Should it? Look, I think all beer is better when it leaves lacing, but that's an aspect of beer that doesn't directly translate to better flavor, so I can ignore it. The aroma is crisp, light lager and lime.
First sip is a light lager with lime. I wouldn't say it's worse than Bud Light Lime, but it's not leaps better. Was I just imagining the previous beer was better than all of the other attempts at a light beer? This wouldn't stand out in a group of five light beers with lime in them.
Tip-in is moderate carbonation, light lime, and a sweet malt. The middle is a significant rise in carbonation with citric acid seeming to enhance it quite a bit. The finish is a wash of water with lime and carbonation before an acidic trail off.
