I have saved the best for last. Unusually, I did not start off by trying the beverage that had the best chance of being the best. Instead, I have saved the hard tea for the last. This is one of the easiest things to get right. It shouldn't be hard to get a hard tea right. It just shouldn't. Yes, there have been mistakes in the past, but this one isn't going to be carbonated. Apparently, you can't carbonate something in cardboard. That's cool by me, as iced tea shouldn't be carbonated. Let's see if these guys can finally pull out a win.
Not surprisingly, it looks like tea. It's just about the color that I normally like my tea, so it also has that going for it. The aroma is a lemon tea, and I'm kind of surprised that they didn't call this lemon tea. They have pictures of lemons on the box, so I guess it's supposed to be implied that has lemons in with the tea. In fact, it says that it was made with real tea. I like to hear that. I don't like to see that sucralose is still listed among the ingredients.
First sip is, unusually, not good. It is not doing a good job of hiding the 11.1% ABV that is coming from alcohol that they didn't bother to list. Who knows if it's a malt beverage or something that gets distilled, but either way it's not being hidden it all. Instead, it's overpowering the tea, but it falls short of overpowering the sucralose. As a result, there is a metallic alcohol bite followed by the ghost of tea and then the hideous aftertaste of artificial sweetener. This is not good, and I can't recommend anything from this company at all. I'm never going to buy a beverage from them intentionally again.
