Baileys has not know the bad side of my scale. The worst they've done is dip down into the average territory, and I cannot imagine this won't be a hit. Well, I guess I could imagine it, if I tried really hard, but come on - this is going to be mint and vanilla! I love this as ice cream, and I'm betting I will love it as a drink.
The light green beverage is... certainly different. I assume they added food coloring like they do for mint ice cream. I don't know why they do it, as I've had mint chocolate chip ice cream that didn't have the food coloring added, and it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the ice cream in any way. The aroma has a noticeable alcohol content, but the vanilla is strangely more forward than the mint. This might subvert expectations.First sip shows me - the mint is there to give oomph. The vanilla hits up front, but that mint is delivering everything else until the alcohol takes over. Well, I say that, but the alcohol flashes first, but it's quickly forgotten after the mint gets there. The vanilla seems almost like an afterthought. I guess the "shake" is just the cream itself.
Subsequent sips are smooth as glass, but that could be just me getting used to the alcohol and enjoying the mint more and more. It probably is a combination of both, but the vanilla reappears after the alcohol lets go, and I like that quite a bit.
Bottom Line: It's a solid variation.
