First sip is definitely not an NE IPA, but it's not a regular IPA. I think it probably shares more in common with the West Coast IPA styles, but I can't be sure with this sip. It is juicy, but it also has some barbs underneath it that latch on and try to bring some bitterness. I'm going for the swig.
Tip-in is very gentle carbonation tingle aside a slight funk with tangerine, grapefruit, and nectarine trying to be casual. The middle fills in with a heightening of the burning carbonation joined by some scraping of pine needles while the fresh fruits churn into a slushie above them. The finish is a sudden dryness with a slightly tart, musty trail-off.
Bottom Line: East Coast IPAs aren't a thing. This isn't good enough to make them one, but it isn't bad.
