What is this? The guy behind the counter told me it was a whiskey, but it doesn't say anything about that on the label. It appears, a "whip" is just something they whipped up... which means this is a blended whiskey. Is that inherently bad or good? Well, I've heard that it's bad from people who know, and I've heard that some are really good from people who should also know. I don't claim to be someone who would know.
The whiskey is really dark. I mean, this is so much darker than other whiskeys that I had questioned if it is actually a whiskey. From the picture that is around on the internet, the examples of whiskey as it ages shows it getting darker, and it shows a lot evaporating. I wonder how they could have gotten this so dark while not making it significantly more valuable. The aroma is actually smells a bit like vanilla and peanuts. What the hell is this?
First sip is heavy vanilla, peanuts, and whiskey that is covered quite a bit. I still don't understand what this is, but this isn't just whiskey. I am tempted to look it up. The 33% ABV is significant for something like a cream, but it's not that high for whiskey. So, should I look it up?
No. I'm not going to get fooled into doing research. You'll have to do your own.
Bottom Line: Strange, but pretty tasty.
