We're halfway through summer. It seems insane that time whips by this quickly, and it feels like I just got out my summer ales. Well, this is a blonde, I guess, and that's an ale. This very explicitly says that it's a summer blonde. This is, I assume, different from a southern blonde. So far, I only have three blonde lagers... maybe they need to step it up.
The tangerine orange beer produces minimal head right out of the can, and the head disappears completely within moments. The aroma is mango and tangerine with an overt pineapple reigning them in. The overall effect of the aroma is a bit aggressive with fruit esters and acidity seeming to be right there, taunting the world with its display of fruit peels.
First sip is not nearly as bombastic as the aroma seemed. Instead, the pineapple is pretty mellow, and the mango gushes into it with a hint of tangerine along for the ride. It's sweet overall with light carbonation and a nice, summer vibe. I dig the sip, and I think I'm going to dig the rest of the glass.
Tip-in is moderate carbonation with pineapple and mango. The middle come in with too much carbonation that messes up the balance that the fruits were just establishing. The sweetness bends to bitterness as the fruits take hold again for the finish, and grains hold the fruit aloft for the trail off.
