Another beer from the heathen, skull-festooned brewery of beer and nightmares. I guess Warhammer was taken, and they wanted that authentic 80's vibe, so they decided to marry a mullet to their war axe. Look, I'd like nothing more than to say they were wrong in doing it, but the fact is that they brew fantastic beer, and I don't care what their muse is. They just need to brew more.
The gold beer seems like it's turning to burnt orange. The thick, sticky white head takes a bit to go down, and it leaves a little bit of lacing on the way down. The patchy top remaining is nice to look at and doesn't really cover the scent of slightly musty malt with tropical fruits laying in wait. It smells so good that I actually said out loud, "This smells good," to no one in particular.
First sip is juicy, bitter, musty, caramel, and pine. Is it good? Well, no. And, I guess, yes. I mean, it's not bad, but the complexity of the beer combined with the sip isn't doing it any favors. I liked the last one because it managed to do a lot without having either the musty or the bitter flavors in heaps. This one has them, but the gulp shall reveal all.

Tip-in is tropical fruit juice with a layer of bitter on top and a layer of caramel underneath - carbonation is barely a tickle. The middle erupts into a delightful herb-filled fruit wash that has just enough carbonation to increase overall sensations. The finish is fruit rinds, pine, and bitterness, but it becomes almost candy-like with a wrap of fruit sweetness.
