I went for a small jar of this, as I generally am of two minds when it comes to punch. One, it is perfectly acceptable in the right situation. Two, those situations are few and far between. I guess that's not really being of two minds - it's more of having two thoughts, but I have many more thoughts about this that I won't bother chronicling here. Instead, I will just jump in with both feet.
It pours like weak punch. Not sure if that's a good sign or a bad one, but it is what it is. The aroma is mild fruit punch with heavy alcohol. This was entirely predictable. Honestly, when I sniff it again, the alcohol is less prominent than it was the first time, so it seems like either I am mellowing out or it is, and I haven't had anything to drink at this point.
First sip is burning punch. The Kentucky hug is strong, after a second or two. The delay is unusual for something with this much alcohol, but the overall effect of the sip is not entirely bad. The alcohol seems to be overwhelming the punch, but that isn't really a bad thing. This is supposed to be an adult beverage, and it certainly announces that fact.
Further sipping mellows out the experience considerably. The alcohol is still quite significant, so I would take it easy, if I had a bigger jar. But, I don't really like punch, and I'm glad enough I only got a taster of it.
