The orange beer is way hazy - like Bearded Iris level of hazy. The white head is going to leave some lacing. Not a ton, but some. And some is better than none. The aroma is citrus over tropics. It smells very fruity, and most DIPAs can get away with a lot of fruit without giving way to a wave of bitterness. I'm prepared to love this.
First sip is... chill. It is really sedate, but it has relaxed grapefruit and orange that are just kind of hanging out, seeing where the party goes. They aren't being pushed into anything by a bitter pal who wants to know where the cocaine and hot chicks are. Instead, they are content to exist. And I delight in their existence.
Tip-in is mild carbonation with a bitter halo as grapefruit and tangerine mull about. The middle becomes a somewhat thin mix of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine. The finish is where the flavor hits home solidly, and the thinness of the middle is all but forgotten as fruit juice tartness and sweetness head into the trail off.
