This is the last in the multipack, and I am currently on the fence as to whether or not to try the next multipack. None of these have been breakouts, and the lime was the best at just about average. I'm not sure these are going to get better, and I may either look for something else or just go back to beer. Who knows what the future holds? Does it hold a good tasting black cherry seltzer? Cuz that's what I'm looking at.
Seltzer water. They all look the same. I expected this to be more like the raspberry in that, when I opened it, I expected to really smell the cherries, and I didn't. Nevertheless, sticking my nose down into it lets me smell those cherries pretty well. I like black cherries, and I'm hoping I'm going to like this. It could set the tone for my next few reviews, whatever they may be.
First sip isn't bad. It's not particularly flavorful, but it isn't watered down nonsense. It also is managing to avoid the pitfalls that the pineapple unfortunately fell into. As a result, it's seltzer water that appears to have some black cherry flavor added. It's not bad, and it it was never going to knock my socks off. That's not really the intent of the 5% ABV seltzers.
Tip-in is a nice, surprisingly solid, hit of black cherries along with gentle carbonation buzz in quite a bit of water. The middle is able to maintain a certain amount of the cherry, as it really gets watered down in the center to, I assume, make it quite drinkable. The finish brings back a stronger taste of cherries as carbonation bubbles hold them for the trail off.
Bottom Line: I'm not sure seltzers can get a whole lot better.
