This is the last of the multipack, and the end can't come soon enough. Sometimes, a multipack will give me the opportunity to try many different flavors of a kind of beverage that I very much enjoy. However, sometimes I will be stuck slogging it out with reviews of stuff that I am not looking forward to, but there is a sunk cost, and I am inclined to do a review of most of the beverages that I buy. Sometimes, the multipack will be so bad that I only get through two of the four flavors before pouring the rest down the drain. At least Dunkin' hasn't been quite that bad.
It is a suitable mango hue when I pour it in. I'm reminded that these beverages are not carbonated, and that is the one unifying thing that makes them better than others. I like carbonated beverages, but I don't like carbonated tea or lemonade. It doesn't seem to me like there is a point in carbonating the alcohol-laden version of something that isn't carbonated in the first place. The aroma isn't good. It smells like mangoes and pineapples have been sitting in the bottom drawer of an unrefrigerated drawer for a while, and a fungus has broken out.
First sip is not as bad as the smell, but it's not really doing itself a lot of favors. Mango and pineapple go together well in other beverages, but they aren't meshing here. Is it the green tea messing it up? I feel like the mango is trying to strangle the pineapple, and the disharmonious result is attacking my tongue. I'm not really a fan so far.
Tip-in is heavy tropical fruits that hit with a dull thud; like the fruits were bruised before they were juiced or something. The middle arrives with a significantly better mix that seems to gel much, much better than the sip or the tip-in. The finish is a nice top off where the sweetness surges and the tea comes out between the two fruits.
