I thought my multipack was the last I would see of the Simply beverages, but I got this from my sister-in-law, so I'm going to be doing another review. She said that she liked the peach a lot better than she liked the Happy Thursday beverages, and I know that those could have used quite a bit of improvement. However, I have not been particularly enamored by the Simply beverages so far, but maybe there's something special in the peach.
It pours a very thin color with just a little bit of peach hue to it that might indicate that this is properly infused and potentially properly balanced. The carbonation that was in the previous beverages is still here, and it's still just as unwelcome as it was before. The aroma is distinctly and strongly peach, and I don't smell pretty much anything else in here. I guess I'm just going to dive in.
First sip is a sweet peach beverage that is completely inoffensive, but that is on brand for the Simply drinks. The peach seems to be doing a good job of covering the artificial sweetener, but it seems unlikely that will last. For this first sip, at least, it seems to be working out okay. I wouldn't say that I go far out of my way for peaches or peach flavored beverages, but I guess this is as perfectly okay as they get. Most of the flavored beverages that have peach in them that I have tried lately also include something like pineapple or a more vibrant fruit.
Tip in is peach, and the carbonation is doing a fine job of pretending that there is peach fuzz still attached. The middle gets pretty bad pretty quick; the peach is sweetened with artificial sweetener, and the carbonation causes a ruckus at the top of the mouth that is distracting from whatever refreshing center the beverage might have. The finish is worse than the middle with artificial sweetener, peach pits, and still too much carbonation.
