This hasn't been a particularly long journey, but it is one I am welcoming the end of. I bought the Sunny D multipack on a whim, and I have effectively regretted it ever since. The 95 calories that are in each one of these cans is not worth the taste that you have to endure for them. You may just be better off getting a regular seltzer or even just plain water. I actually contemplated watering this down with some ice just to see if it helped at all, but that wouldn't be a justifiable move for a review. I have to drink this the way it is. May God have mercy on our souls.
It pours the same. It's hazy, kind of white, and it doesn't look like a seltzer should. The aroma should be orange and pineapple, and I smell a lot more orange than I do pineapple. Pineapple is one of those flavors that tends to overwhelm other flavors around it, but for some reason it can't overwhelm the orange here. Maybe, in a fit of passion, the manufacturers of this beverage decided to actually show some restraint. Let's hope that is reflected in the taste.
First sip has significantly less flavor than its siblings. It still has the artificial sweetener kick to it, but it doesn't have any of the accompanying flavors that would justify it. Instead, we have a seltzer that doesn't taste much like a seltzer, and that isn't for the best in this case.
Tip-in is orange, and the pineapple slowly teases itself out. Carbonation mingles with the pineapple toward the roof of the mouth as the center of the beverage gets watery and the artificial sweetener slowly seeps in. The finish is, once again, horrific. It's just not good.
