What flavor is razz pop? Is this going to be raspberry? It looks like the weird skeleton guy on the front is holding some kind of frozen drink. Is this supposed to be a flavor of an Icee or Slurpee? I suppose those usually come in blue flavor, and that is ostensibly raspberry. I've never been completely sure as to why they were colored blue for raspberry. Who would associate raspberries with blue?
Well, I don't know what color I expected it to be, but it's not that color. This is the color of iced tea. Specifically, it is the color of iced tea that has been brewed in massive vats and designed to conform to a particular color and texture. That color is identical to the other iced teas brewed by the same beverage maker. I really wanted this to be a dazzling red or a strange blue, but this is just iced tea color. For that matter, it's iced tea texture. The aroma is that overly sweet raspberry candy that you can get at some five and dimes.
First sip is pretty bad. I'm not sure I've ever been a massive fan of raspberry, and I would never have chosen the blue color of Slurpee whenever, on a rare occasion, I was permitted to get a frozen beverage from a convenience store in my youth. As a result, this is clearly not made for me. The blueberry is overly sweet, the tea is muted, but I guess the alcohol is not particularly prominent. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for in a beverage on a particular night.
Subsequent sips confirm my previous inclinations toward the beverage, and my distaste of the artificial and overly sweet raspberry is bolstered. This is the worst of the bunch from Voodoo Ranger, and it may be the worst of the hard iced teas that I've had. I don't know why they made it, and I don't know who willingly goes back for a second.
