So far, Creature Comforts has not been very comforting. Today is not going to change that. Really, it's just a question of how bad this beer is going to be. This is going to be sour, but it might not go all-in on the sour. Maybe this will have a delightfully tart finish to a robust and crisp beer. I think I might like that. I used to like sour candies as a kid, and maybe this will spark that joy again.
The hazy, pale yellow beer sprouts more head than I know what to do with. I had to stop pouring so this could settle, and I could top it off. A plethora of streamers from the depths are constantly replenishing the foam, and the result is a head that is lopsided, milky, and clinging to the sides admirably. The aroma is not good. I am reminded why I don't buy weisse beers, in general, but this was in a pack, so I deal with what I have. This is tart. I hope it doesn't venture into sour. The side of the can says "Gently Tart" as well as "Ambrosia." Now, I'm no religious scholar (oh wait, I guess I am) but ambrosia is usually considered to be sweet. I guess we'll see what these guys thought.Whelp, I'm not drinking more than the first sip. It's too sour for me to enjoy in the least. Yes, there are other flavors, but I will not dignify them with words. Sour beers can go hang themselves.
Bottom Line: Sour. Bad.
