I saw this on the shelf and wistfully remembered the enjoyment I had from the previous creams that I had from Jackson Morgan. I'm not sure if I saw this one on the shelf before, but if I did, I passed it over. At the time, I think I was more curious about sipping creams in general, and the idea of an orange cream seemed a bridge too far. Since then, I have encountered many different flavored creams, and the electric orange from Sugarlands has certainly stepped me out of the comfort zone of creams that aren't weird colors.
There's no getting around it: this color is strange. It is orange, and orange beverages that are thick like cream are normally relegated to duty as props for dinner scenes in science fiction movies. The aroma is strangely hard to whiff even with my nose down inside the glass. Eventually, I think I can pick up some vague orange. I can't even really tell that it's cream by just the smell.First sip is impressive. The orange and cream have combined to remind me of the orange sherbet that came in cardboard tubes whenever I was little. I remember that flavor fondly, and it is boding well for this beverage. It seems like the issue with most of these creams, though, is them being overly sweet. It relegates them to a curiosity, a desert, or something to be sipped very slowly. I guess this is why creams have not actually overtaken beers by volume in my fridge.
Subsequent sips dispel the notion that this is too sweet. Once the tongue gets used to the idea of the sweetness, it doesn't hit as hard, and further sips can be had without having to worry about the beverage becoming cloying. Instead, the orange is the dominating flavor, but it still subtle enough to not get tiresome quickly. Instead, I'm going to enjoy sipping this through the rest of my night.
Bottom Line: Very different from their other creams, but still very good.
