While there have been domestic creams that have challenged the reigning champion from Ireland, there have also been Irish contenders who have attempted to dethrone Baileys. This one boasts a sigil that claims that this is the world's most awarded Irish cream liqueur. This comes from Tipperary, and they say that this is the heart of Ireland's dairy pastures, so presumably this is going to be the best of the creams. I don't know that you need to be geographically close to something in order to be the best one to produce a derivative. Maybe you do. Let's find out how good they are.
It pours not quite the pink of a Pepto-Bismol, and it makes me think more of a strawberry milkshake or milk with some strawberry Quick in it. Of course, that's just from looking, and the cream does the normal thing the cream does where it leaves a cascading glop on the sides as it sloshes around. The aroma is quite strawberry with a notable haze of alcohol coming from the 17.0% ABV. So far, so good.First sip has strawberries, cream, and noticeable alcohol. One would not easily mistake this for a strawberry milk, as the alcohol insinuates itself too much into the mouth for that to happen. Nevertheless, the creaminess and strawberries dampen the alcohol significantly and provide for smooth conveyance down the throat. There was another beverage I had recently that I likened to strawberry Cream Savers, and this has too much alcohol to be like that. Incidentally, if you search on the Internet, you will find that Cream Savers have been discontinued, but I recently came across them at a Cracker Barrel. Just keep your eyes open, and you might find them.
Subsequent sips have less strawberry and more cream, and I think the cream benefits from being chilled. Aside from that, the first sip gave me all the impression I need to conclude this review.
Bottom Line: Fairly tasty.
