The only reason I picked this up was because it looked very interesting. The picture that you see here is it after having been shaken, as is recommended on the bottle. There is a significant quantity of white detritus that coalesces at the bottom of the bottle after it sits for little while, and that really gives me the impression that this is going to be very lemony. And that's kind of what I look for in my lemonade. Maybe I'm nuts.
First sip is not nearly as bad as the alcohol fumes led me to assume this would be. Yes, I still get a snoot full of what can only be described as gasoline and varnish fumes coming straight off the top of the beverage, but the actual taste is actually closer to what the beverage claims to be. This is moonshine mixed with pink lemonade. The moonshine still has its characterizing harshness and alcohol force while the pink lemonade soothes that quite a bit. The resulting sip is harsh at the beginning and sweet and pleasant on the back end.
Subsequent sips reaffirm my initial conclusions, but the sweetness actually comes on a little before the center of the beverage, so the overall effect is better than just moonshine with some pink lemonade added. Instead, I would say it's more like pink lemonade with a little too much moonshine added. The harshness of the first part of the beverage is unfortunate, but ultimately the beverage can mostly overcome it.
Bottom Line: There are some flavored moonshines that I would prefer to this one.
