Once again, I ponder the enigmatic naming conventions that breweries use. This is, presumably the precursor to the Pseudo Sue ales that I had a little while ago. I don't actually know why something would be a pseudo version of some other beer, if it was brewed by the same company. I'm sure they thought it was a cool name, and maybe it is. Is Cyber Sue a cool name? I'm not sure it isn't, but I also don't know why it would be.
The beer is notably clear right off the bat, but the tiniest bit of haze manages to pour from the can right before the can is empty. Aside from that, it's a delightful gold with a white head that has some serious staying power. It looks like it'll leave some lacing, too, so I'm overjoyed. The aroma is supposed to start with citrus, but it has tropical fruits and skins all up alongside the glass with maybe some grapefruit ducking in.
First sip is a bitter taste with nothing but seeds and skins of fruits to give comfort. I don't know if this is going to improve in the gulp, but the sip is too much. There is so little solid flavor to battle the sensation of bitterness that I refuse to accept that this was the intent of the brewer. I mean, when they add coffee or try to make a sour beer, they are delving in the devil's business of their own free will. But this unbalanced beer cannot be all that it seems.

Tip-in is stark bitterness over a demure biscuit malt and lots of tropical fruit skins. The middle continues bitter, but some magic is inside there with pine, tropics, and citrus all rolled together in what slowly becomes a nice little beer. The finish seems to continue the bitterness' evacuation from the drink as fruit peels bring a bit of juice with them for the trail off.
