The first one just didn't match up to the competition. This one might add enough pizzazz to jump ahead, and I certainly hope it does. I tend to like pink lemonade (I really liked the Monster Rehab Pink Lemonade before they did away with it, and now I even struggle to find the regular lemonade in stock). I know there are two other flavors that came in this multi-pack, and I can't imagine they stand a better chance of tasting great than this one.
Complaint #1 is pretty straight forward. It's not pink. It's my understanding that the main thing that pink lemonade has that differentiates it from regular lemonade is, and you'll probably not believe me and have to go searching on the internet yourself to try to prove me wrong, that it is pink. There are other things that (only sometimes) get added to pink lemonade to make it special like a bit of fruitiness or, more often, increased sweetness. But pink is the main thing. This doesn't have it. This has a slight berry smell that is on top of the lemonade, but all other visual cues are the same as the previous lemonade.
First sip is quite watery, somewhat tart, and it definitely has the berry flavor. I checked the can to see if the berry is identified, but I guess it gets dumped into the "natural flavors" category. It says that fruit and vegetable juice has been added for color... which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I don't know what to tell you - so far, it's a general nothingburger.
Tip-in is watery berries with a dash of lemons added. The middle is watery berries with tartness getting a bit more noticeable. The finish is light berries, alcohol, and what I would have sworn was artificial sweetener.
