Am I going to hate this? I mean, I don't go out of my way to get beverages that I'm not going to like. In fact, I specifically avoid getting beverages that I'm not going to like, but I grabbed this on a whim, as I didn't have to buy a whole four pack or six pack in order to try it. I figure there is an outside chance that this will be the punch that explains to me why people like punch. At 10% ABV, I suspect the reason people like this punch is to get drunk. I'm not planning on getting drunk, and if this isn't any good, I can pour it down the drain with no regrets.
I didn't know if this was going to be carbonated, but as soon as I opened it, it let me know that it was. It's carbonated like soda, however, so it's not going to have any kind of head. That's fine by me, as I have very few expectations about this in the first place. The beverage is pink, and I know I didn't expect that. The aroma smells exactly like all of the other alcoholic punches that I've had, as there are mixed fruits with alcohol added. I don't know what I was expecting, but I got the same thing I always get. Will this experience get any better?
First sip demonstrates that it will not. If anything, the experience got a little worse. The fruits are not congealing particularly well, and the alcohol is not masked in any way. I think the problem, mainly, is that the taste of the punch is not good. It's possible that it's the weird, fake sweetness. I didn't bother to look on the can to see if it was low calorie or something, but the sweetness is distinctly artificial, and it's not good. I was going to muscle through the rest of the review, but I really don't understand what benefit I would get out of that, so I'm not going to do it.
Bottom Line: It sucks.
