I haven't complained about this kind of thing for a while, but this beer's name is absolutely insane:
Hap & Harry's and Kings of Leon Come Together Neon Leon Light American Lager
Seriously, people? We can do better than this. Be pithy, be descriptive, and be eye-catching, but try and be brief. Get to the point. This is a low calorie beer. Why not just say that? On top of that, you didn't bother to put how many calories are in this beer on the can. What are you trying to hide? What's hiding behind all these words? Is it the truth? We may never know.
There isn't much to say about the pale yellow beer, aside from the fact that it doesn't seem to have much of a head. I'm not sure if this is because there isn't as much carbonation, which seems unlikely, or if whatever process they used to reduce the calories is making it hard for the beer to retain any bubbles that it can produce. The aroma is pretty faint, but it is lemons and wheat. It's a fairly inauspicious beginning for this beer.
First sip is relatively unobtrusive, and I wouldn't call it bad. However, I would say that it lacks very much punch. Because this is a lager, the bar for being flavorful is lower than it would be for many other styles, but the seams to not quite hit normal lager level. Nevertheless, the vague citrus and some pomegranate go up against a relatively weak grain to produce a beer that, if you ask me, I would pick out as a low calorie beer. Maybe a full swig will improve things.
Tip-in is somewhat tart pomegranate and lemon mix that rubs up against a grain malt in a puddle of water with carbonation playing no part. The middle is, if nothing else, incredibly drinkable. The lack of exuberance with respect to hops and malt have resulted in a beverage does not in any way fight on the way down. The finish is a little bit of bitterness and lemons coupled to the pomegranate before grains hang on for the trail off.
