I only picked up four of the Clubtails, and this is the last one. I was putting it off, as I don't like tequila, and I have recently figured out that it is one of the main ingredients in Margaritas. However, these all say that they are malt beverages, so I'm hoping that the tequila nonsense won't be in here. We shall find out.
The mysteriously green-yellow beverage is, once again, carbonated. I still don't know why all of these are carbonated. The aroma is lime and what would seem like tequila. I mean, it can't be, right? They would have to say "distilled alcohol" or something on the bottle instead of "malt beverage." That's got to be some Canadian law or something.
First sip shows that this isn't tequila based. That odd herbal flavor that is tequila doesn't appear to be here. Instead, it's just mostly lime soda. I think I can taste the alcohol a bit, but not as much as you'd think. It's not bad at all, but I fear a full swig.
Tip-in is lime juice from concentrate, light carbonation, and a little bit of alcohol. The middle becomes nice and smooth as the alcohol is just mellow and the lime carries a bunch of water with it through the mouth. The finish is a shame with the tequila flavor rearing its ugly head and not really letting go, as the lime tries to assert for the trail-off.
