This says on the label that it is a type of malt beverage. I believe I've had a screwdriver before, and it was just orange juice and vodka. Maybe I don't really understand the difference between malted alcohol and distilled alcohol, and I don't think I'm going to learn it from this can. I have two more of these canned cocktails waiting to be reviewed, and I want this whole thing to swing upward.
It looks more like an orange drink than a cocktail. And by that I mean that it looks orange flavored and watery. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Maybe the cocktail is supposed to look like this, but I don't know about that. I don't remember it looking like this, but it is what it is. The aroma is lightly orange and lightly alcohol.
First sip is a nice little spritzer. The orange is doing pretty well (for orange juice from concentrate) and the carbonation really brings something good to the way it drinks. The effervescence is an effective way of morphing the taste and letting the alcohol sit back in the cut. However, this isn't supposed to be a carbonated beverage.
Tip-in is orange and light carbonation with alcohol floating on top. The middle becomes a bed of carbonation with watery oranges and light alcohol still floating. The finish is a strong surge of alcohol that overtakes the orange and the water. The trail off is vaguely orange with an alcohol twinge.
