I don't know what a sunshine beer is. I'm going in assuming is it similar to a blonde. I have a handy (and attractive) beer map up on my wall that shows (nominally) the relationships between different styles of beer. Sunshine beer isn't on it. I suspect this will be a blonde with Belgian yeast added to it, and that could be interesting.
That's... a lot of head. I let it go down for a while before I poured in the rest and took the picture, but trust me - it was a lot. I pretty clearly was too aggressive on my pour, so I take full blame for this monstrosity. It looks... really good. And it smells really good. It has that Belgian yeast I love so much, but it's bright and happy. It reminds me of the Delirium Tremens that I enjoyed so much. If it tastes like it, we have a winner.
First sip is slightly tart and sweet with bread backing the flowery yeast, but nothing is overwhelming the senses. It is, indeed, like Delirium Tremens, but it's not as forward. It's a bit more laid-back, and I didn't know that Belgian yeast could ever be laid back. It's nice and good for sipping, that's for sure. I wonder how it will sip.
Tip-in is gentle (almost timid) flowery yeast and bread dough. The middle rises with carbonation tickling the roof of the mouth while a smooth yeasty slurry flushes down the gullet too fast to properly enjoy. The finish hits with stronger flavors than anywhere else, and the sweet and tart battle as the yeast, bread, and refreshing lemons flow into the trail off.
