I enjoyed the first three of these enough that I went back and got a few more. The issue with this process is that I already grabbed the ones that I thought would be most enjoyable. What does that leave me with? Yes, it leaves me with ones that I passed over once. If I passed it over already, the result can't be that great, can it? Maybe I passed something that is really good.
The beverage pours a hazy yellow-green like a lemonade that might have a little mold starting out. This time around, I decided to add ice, although I haven't added it in the pictures. Forgive this discrepancy. I know, the ice that I added is not the proper tiny little crushed ice that a regular margarita would have been served with, I just wanted to keep it cold. The aroma is very sweet with both lemon and lime seeming to present themselves.
First sip isn't terrible. The water from the melting ice seems to have watered it down a bit, but that's really to be expected. Underneath is a sweet and somewhat tart or tangy lime that tastes pretty good until the tequila aftertaste hits. Based on how much I liked the first couple of BuzzBallz, I was willing to try these other versions that are based on tequila, which I historically do not like. It turns out, you can only do so much when you're starting with an alcohol that is not particularly palatable. Maybe it will grow on me.
After a while, I've determined that the tanginess of the lime is enough to overcome the frankly distressing flavor of the tequila for the most part. Maybe it's the impressive 15.0% ABV impressing itself upon me, but the beverage seems to mellow or at least my response to it does as the night wears on. Mind you, it's only 187 ml, and that's 6.2 freedom ounces, so it's not a whole lot of beverage to choke down in the first place.
Bottom Line: Not as good as it's stablemates, but not the worst of the bunch.
