My whiskey journey has brought me far. It is to the point that I fully expect to enjoy this peanut butter rendition of whiskey. I've already found that the cinnamon versions seem to be the best, but peanut butter is a strong flavor, and strong flavors tend to do well when partnered with whiskey or moonshine. Let's hope my supposition bears fruit.
If anything, I suppose I could be convinced that this is more peanut butter colored than most whiskey. It has a bit of an orange glow and a slightly darker color. Aside from that, there's not much to remark on about the looks. The aroma is suitably peanut buttery with a glaze of alcohol on the outside. In other words, it presents exactly like what you would expect it to present as. I fear that having added ice cubes to the whiskey before trying it will water down the taste a bit, so my initial sip may be a bit off, and I'm preparing for that.
The whiskey is strong with this one. The whiskey shines through the peanut butter pretty quickly, but the peanut butter adds a depth of flavor. It makes me wonder if we have started with the least expensive whiskey and then decided to add flavor to cover up the whiskey taste, as the brief whiskey taste that I got is not particularly great. Unfortunately, there's no way to really know what the thoughts were of the distillery, and I've further sullied it with the ice. It's going to take quite a few more sips to get to the bottom of this class.
As was predictable, the beverage gets better as I get past the watery layer with the ice and down into the meat. It still has something a little off about it, and it's interesting that I never tasted something off whenever this was mixed with other whiskeys or moonshines. I'm not sure what process they're using that the others are not, but it's still not a bad beverage.
