What did I expect it to look like? It has no color, and there is pretty minimal carbonation. It's... very water-like. The aroma is quite nicely a spritz of lemon-lime. I've had a lot of Sprite and Starry over the past few days, and I know this is going to be a watery version of that. I am steeling myself for a relatively flavorless beverage that probably can't conceal the alcohol inside it - and would I want it to, even if it could?
First sip is more flavorful than many of the hard seltzers I've had in the past, but it isn't trying too hard. What I mean is that it isn't trying to be a hard hard soda, and that's fine, if it knows what it is. I think when I tried these before, my expectations were too high. Now, I want to see if this is a good alternative to a low-cal beer. After all, this is 100 calories in the can, and it is already better than a lot of the beer I've had that has tried to be in that area.
Tip-in is very mild carbonation (almost not even there) with exceedingly light lemons and lime spritz. The middle comes in with much more carbonation hitting the roof of the mouth, and the gentle (and purposely watery) lemons and lime is kind of serene underneath. The finish is a hit of alcohol with the lemon/lime clinging to it for the trail off.
