This is the last of the four-pack, and I put this off the most. I ran out of stemware, so there's just a regular glass with ice in it. At least I remembered the ice this time. I put this off because I'm not a fan of coconut. Is there coconut in a piña colada? I think there is. I'm not going to bother looking it up. Hopefully, it won't ruin the taste for me. I know there is supposed to be pineapple or something, and maybe there is some other citrus fruit.
The beverage looks like a lemonade that doesn't have the little bits of lemon floating in it, but it is still more lemon juice than water. The aroma is what I assume piña coladas are supposed to smell like. I think I've had piña colada flavored candy in the past, and it smelled like this. It is a strange mix of coconut water and pineapple. Maybe this will be good.
First sip is exactly what a piña colada is supposed to taste like. I know this only because it tastes just like the candy. It is sweet, it has coconut, and it has pineapple. The rum seems to be doing a lot of heavy lifting here, and I think that's probably for the best. It's not a great flavor, and it sticks to the tongue for a while. Coconut water doesn't really taste much like coconut, and I really dislike coconut, but it's still not a great flavor.
As for subsequent sips, we get the same cloying sweetness and rising rum, but it seems that the rum is actually doing a favor for this beverage rather than detracting from it. Still not great, and I wouldn't get it again.
