Tito's Vodka

I don't review a whole lot of hard liquor. Mostly, it's because I'm not generally a fan of it. I have a friend who swears by Tito's as his go-to drink, so I figured I would try it out. It occurs to me that maybe I should go back and actually taste the vodka I used for the Moscow Mule that I got as a present. But, that is for another day. In front of me, I have the California-born vodka from Tito's.

There's not much to say about the way that vodkas generally present. They are not the visual pleasure that a beer is. This looks like slightly heavy water. It leaves weepers down the sides like pretty much every other liquor, but it's clear like unaged moonshine. The aroma is quite pungent. As soon as I opened the bottle and poured the glass, I could smell what I can only describe as burning. This is a beverage with a lot of alcohol, and it is not trying to hide that fact.

First sip is pretty terrible. This just isn't my kind of beverage, as it brings loads of alcohol heat with very little flavor in toe. Generally, that's my complaint about most liquors. This is why I'm a beer guy, and Tito's doesn't appear to be positioned to replace beer anytime soon.

Against my better judgment, I try multiple sips, but this is just not going to be the beverage for me. It burns, and it doesn't taste quite like moonshine, but that doesn't make it better. It doesn't make it worse, but an improvement was necessary.

Bottom Line: This is not my beverage.
