The lemonade without the strawberry added was a bit of a disappointment. I really don't know why they went so far afield with the alterations of the existing lemonade. Well, this one has the same amount of alcohol, and it appears to have the same ingredients other than that they have added strawberry juice from concentrate. Of course, they have something called natural flavors, and who knows what that is. I like strawberries, and I like lemonade. In fact, I like strawberry lemonade. Let's see if I like this version.I expected either more red to be added or less red to be added. As it is, it looks like dirty dishwater. Well, dirty dishwater if your dishes had some ketchup on it. Once again, there is the unnecessary carbonation that is also unwelcome. The aroma is similar to the previous beverage, but it seems like the alcohol is coming out a bit more along with the introduced strawberry. I am, at this point, truly thankful that these came in a multipack. I wouldn't want to be saddled with a bunch of beverages I wasn't going to like, and that's before even try this one.
First sip is pretty bland. Honestly, it reminds me of those carbonated malt beverages that they add flavor to that are not good. Kind of like if Zima had flavor added to it. I mean, you're starting off with something that isn't particularly good, and then you are intentionally making it worse by adding alcohol. Then, you take what you now have and add some other flavor to it to try to cover up your mistakes. This isn't outright terrible, but it's not good. What I want is a good beverage, and maybe a gulp will find one.
Tip-in is strawberry leaves, carbonation, lemons, and thin alcohol. The middle sends carbonation ruckus to the roof of the mouth while an almost undetectable strawberry lemonade flows underneath with a certain amount of sweetness. The finish crashes the carbonation down to allow some strawberry and some lemonade to peek through before heading with alcohol into the trail off.
Bottom Line: They made it worse.
