This says that it uses Irish whiskey, but it also says that it is a product of Canada. I'm going to only use Canada for my labels, even though I could logically use Ireland, too, but that'll open up a whole can of worms with other beverages where stuff is combined. Like, the hops for Bearded Iris aren't grown in Tennessee (probably), so would I include all of the ingredients' origins? Maybe I'm overthinking this.
Predictably, the beverage pours like a cola. It has the color of one, the head of one, and there isn't a whole lot more to say. I can smell the Jameson in there, so there is a big left turn as soon as I take a whiff. I remember liking the Crown Royal and cola in a can a while ago. This reminds me so much of it that it is the same beverage so far.First sip is quite different than the Crown Royal, and not in a good way. It has a bite that was not as prominent in the Crown Royal. It's followed by a woody sweetness that seems like it wants to be dry, but it can't get there. So, no, I'm not a fan so far. I don't gulp things that are liquors, but this is a diluted mix, so I'm gonna.
Tip-in is cola with minimal carbonation and just a modicum of the whiskey. The middle is sweet cola, moderate carbonation, and still just a breath of whiskey. The finish is where the whiskey asserts itself, but it doesn't go nuts and leaves wood for the trail off.
Bottom Line: Not terrible, but an IPA would probably be better.
