Fresh Pressed? Sounds like someone is making a nice, fruity beverage that was designed for me. I wouldn't be too surprised if the guys over at Panther Creek thought I might swing by, so they worked something up that would suit my particular needs. (I'm only kidding. They don't know that I live so close to them, and they have likely never heard of this blog).
The dark gold beer produces exactly the right amount of head, and it dissipates to a flotilla in the middle of the beer with the requisite ring on the sides and a tiny little bit of lacing. The aroma does indeed smell of citrus and tropical fruits all scrunched up together and smushed (although, I'm not sure that smushing them changes the aroma). It's quite mouth-watering, and I want it a lot right now.First sip is sublime and intriguing. These guys show me almost every time that something special is going on at that brewery. The cavalcade of fruits are too numerous to name and to bright and shiny to not enjoy. The real trick is that there are nectarines and tangerines in the middle that are so real I can almost feel the fuzz on the outside of the skins. So far, so good.
Tip-in is peaches, nectarines, grapefruits, and all their friends bringing light carbonation with them. The middle sends a hit of carbonation to the roof of the mouth while the fruit dance gets even more intense in the middle, and the skins are stuck in there with the meat. The finish is a wave of bitterness before a lemon-lime-pineapple-mango fruit clings on for the trail off.
Bottom Line: The juiciest of juicy IPAs.
