I've had a few beers that reminded me of seltzer water in that they didn't have any flavor. This comes at the idea from a different perspective. This starts with unflavored seltzer and adds some kind of flavor. What flavor? Original. What flavor is that? No idea. It also doesn't say on the can that the has tequila, but I understand that is the case.
Surprisingly, the beverage isn't clear. I expected this to have the pristine clear color of soda water, but it has the haze of a very, very watered down lemonade or something. The head is exactly what you would see on a regular seltzer, though, and it is gone by the time I get to the camera to take the picture. The aroma is... what is that smell? There is lime here, but there is something bigger sitting on top of it, and it is familiar enough that I know I smelled it before, but it's vague enough that I don't remember where. It's some kind of weed or plant.First sip not good. It's got a twang on the back end that seems like it isn't coming from the lime, but I don't know where its actual source is (possibly tequila). There is lime in the drink, and there is that strange weed. I wonder if the taste is coming from that - whatever it is. I'm still not convinced it's a weed, but it is off-putting.
Tip-in is vaguely sweet that crescendos into sickly sweet with mild carbonation tingle with a very slight tart to it. The middle runs in with a not-as-bad-as-the-sip watery lime that is just about right on the amount of lime it has in it. The finish has that - it has to be tequila - taste that mixes with the lime and tartness for an unacceptable finish.
Bottom Line: Maybe go for a hard lemonade instead.
