Is this a beer blog? At what point do the number of creams that I've attempted surpass the number of beers that I've chronicled? I know I'm not really near that point, but it seems like these creams stick in my head. I think that, statistically, they perform better than most of the beers on the blog, and that seems to indicate that maybe I should be switching my preferred beverage. It seems unlikely that I will do so, but it's impressive the number of creams that I have given incredibly high marks to compared to the number of beers. Jim Beam is, presumably, known for good bourbon. Adding it to cream might do something extra special. I'm going to find out.
This pours a little darker than the other creams, and I would put it in the category of some of the ones that I have suggested could be confused with chocolate milk. Once again, it could probably use a little more chocolate added to the color, but it's just about right. It has a very strong aroma that is a lot of cream with more alcohol than the 15.0% ABV would seem to indicate. I mean, it smells good, but this is a little alcohol heavy in the front. I am reminded of the distinct experience I had with a cream that was trying too hard and overcame the docile nature of the cream with way too much alcohol. I won't know if that's the case here until I actually dive in. I do that next.First sip is quite good. I shouldn't have expected anything else. There was a cream I tried recently that I liked, but my main complaint was that it tasted too much like cream and did not give the impression that it was intended for adults. This cream does not have that issue. Instead, it has vanilla and caramel notes added to a rich alcohol on top of a velvety cream that makes the whole beverage quite enjoyable. Subsequent sips reaffirm this first take on the beverage, and I anticipate I'm going to very much enjoy this bottle over the next week or so.
Bottom Line: I'm not sure if bourbon makes it better, or if they've done something else, but this is really good.
