Although the labels from Half Batch Brewing are very straightforward. They go with a background that is akin to a brown paper bag with the short, simple name emblazoned in large letters in the middle of the can. They throw some color in for the background, but you can see this on the shelf a mile away and know it's one of their beers, and you can identify the different beers at a glance. It is simple, and it is effective.
First sip has a tangy and bitter wallop at the end. The fruits are there for the beginning, and they are integrated into the yeast, but the end hit that is immediately followed by bitterness is dictating what my mouth can remember of the beer. I'd like to say there's a lot of nuance in the beginning or something like that, but I have almost no idea how the beginning of that beer tasted. The punch of sensations at the end were too much for the rest of the beer to overcome. This is not a sipping beer.
Tip-in is tangerine, mango, and starfruit with a very light carbonation caress. The middle bunches up at the front of the mouth with yeast that seems like it has nowhere to go while a cracker malt shows a heightening carbonation toward the top of the mouth and the fruits seem to scurry underneath with a distinct wort pressing down. The finish is light tartness and heavier bitterness, but it isn't the hammer that it was in the sip. Bitterness and an echo of yeast are all that remains for the trail off.
Bottom Line: This will likely get better as it warms up, and I guess it's okay.
