One of the first things I noticed upon picking up this bottle was the fact that it was really hard to read. While, yes, the Olde English script is particularly hard to make out, it's really the color combination of fake gold leaf on top of grain pattern background. Yes,
Rivertown stands out really bright and shiny on that black background, but reading the rest of this is pretty rough. The fact that it is not English makes it much harder. The fact that this is a malt beverage and not a beer makes me question whether or not I should have picked this up. Oh crap. The tiny little letters above the French spell out sour.
The beverage pours a somewhat hazy brass color, and there's almost no head coming out of it. I really tried to pour this with as much verve as possible to get some had to come out of it. And then, I ran over to the camera to get the picture. The result was the pittance of bubbles that you see here in the picture, and they were gone by the time I got around to drinking. The aroma is sour. This won't be good.
Yep, first sip is sour. I don't know why people do this to themselves. I'm not drinking any more of this.
Bottom line: I like sour patch kids, but I don't like sour beer.
