The beer is a relatively clear beverage that has just about the right amount of head. The white bubbles are relatively tiny, in general, and they do leave a little lacing on the sides. The color of the beer is that of slightly damp straw. The aroma is grains and citrus, and most of that citrus is lemon. Let's get this party started.
First sip is crisp and inviting. The grains are heavy, but the citrus has moistened it up to the point that it is not harsh in any way and flows relatively smoothly right down the gullet. The citrus is not just lemons, and I can taste tangerine and orange joining the fray. I don't know if I'm expected to add a wedge of orange or lemon or something, and I don't really think that I need to. I could totally see sipping this all night long, but I wouldn't ever finish this review, would I?
Tip-in is furious carbonation battle over a grain and citrus landscape. The middle has grains that rise up to meet the carbonation while the citrus nestles into a bed at the bottom of the mouth. The finish is a sharp snap of cold in citric acid before a slight bitterness leads greens into the trail off.
Bottom Line: A very good, drinkable wheat.
