The beer is a hazy honey color with a goodly head that evaporates very quickly before becoming a few patches on the top of the beer. The aroma is citrus fruits - orange, grapefruit and tangerine to say the least. This is a very fruit-heavy beer, and I can see why this might be described as "refreshing" if it holds true to the smell.
First sip is very smooth. Normally, the grains in these wheat beers are rough and tumble, but this has citrus and wheat milled down to a considerably less coarse mixture, and the orange and lemons are rolling nicely through it. It is a gentle and relaxing beer with enough flavor to know you're alive.
Tip-in is light carbonation tingle with honey and grains laying a bed for orange and lemon zest. The middle becomes a flow of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine over the grainy bed. The finish is fruit pits and heavier grains before a bitter wash of wheat trails-off.
Bottom Line: It is, indeed, a refreshing beverage.
