Much like it's brethren, this beverage resembles cream. This one in particular seems to have quite a bit of a brown tone to it, and it looks like a very light application of chocolate to milk. The aroma brings cream and brown sugar, but I'm not sure that I can really smell any cinnamon. Cinnamon is one of those things that normally stands so far out that it is difficult to muscle other flavors through the same taste buds. In this case, it seems like it's being relegated to a bit part. But that's just from the smell.
First sip is fantastic. I'm starting to think that maybe the beverage of choice for me shouldn't even be beer anymore; these things have been so darn good. I think the biggest problem is that I tend to enjoy bitterness over a long period of time rather than sweetness. These southern creams are delicious, but they tend to be so sweet that it's difficult to drink them for very long. The brown sugar and the cream are mixing well together with a nice warmth of alcohol surrounding them, and it isn't until the finish that the cinnamon comes on to make the whole beverage seem like it would be really good on a colder spring night or even in the winter. The warmth of the alcohol and the light spice definitely make for a good beverage to sip by the fireside while enjoying a nice chat with loved ones.
Bottom Line: Another winner from the cream department.
