I was like it when I get a chance to try new brewery. This one is from Maine, and I don't think I've had one from there before. The label is pretty simple, and I kinda like that. The fact that this was sitting next to another beer from the same brewery means that I couldn't actually tell the difference between the two at a glance. Is that their intent? Who cares? I'm going to go drink some beer.

The yellow beer has a good sized head on it that takes a little while to go down (a generous mix of large and small bubbles means that it has some staying power). The aroma is grains, citrus, and a heavy yeast. This is not the aroma of a standard IPA, and that's okay, because it's not a bad smell at all.
First sip is a mix of good and bad. The meat of the beer seems to be a pretty nice mix of citrus and yeast - weighted, but not heavy. But then the finish brings spices, must, and bitterness. Not sure which is going to dominate the swig, but there is one good way to find out.
Tip-in is minimal carbonation tingle with grains, yeast, and a spritz of both lemon and grapefruit. The middle is where the carbonation really takes it up a notch, and it is met with prickly grains, more (muddled now) citrus, and yeast dust. The finish is a bitter wave that crests and falls into a yeast-laden bitter dust trail.
Bottom Line: It seems like it's trying to do too much, but it's not terrible.
