First sip is bitter, but not bad. It's a bit too bitter in a sip, but I suspect a larger draught will reveal hidden secrets. I mean, I can still taste the malt, but it's just hint of it layered under there. I think I even tasted a bit of the citrus right there toward the beginning, but it was all clearly rushed. I need to take my sweet time with it this time.
Tip-in is a bit of carbonation bite with a goodly amount of bitterness to boot. The middle is a good selling point. It's got the nice hops with a light breading of malt and even that hint of citrus I smelled. It is very smoothed out and not nearly as bitter as the tip-in was. Finish brings another wave of bitter hops with a slight hit of carbonation toward the tip of the tongue. All told, this is a fine beverage. It's not necessarily the best of its breed, but it show that these guys are trying, and they will inevitably fire on all cylinders. For now, it gets about the same rating as the other CSB beer I had
