This picture has snow. It took a while for me to get the review done, obviously, as it is the beginning of autumn as I post this. I took the pictures, and then I finished off the whole pack before writing a review. As a result, I had to get more and now I'm finally getting around to writing it up. My review cadence has been pretty shoddy lately, but I suspect no one has noticed this side of AI web scrapers and Chinese bots.
The nice, dark orange beer didn't have any cloudiness until the last half inch from the bottom of the can. The white head is lots of tiny bubbles with quite a bit of staying power. That stickiness is going to translate into lacing, which I'm a massive fan of. The aroma is herbs over citrus, and there seems like a bit of dank to it that I'm not entirely repulsed by.
First sip is quite a mouthful. The dank is a bit much for me, but the citrus is there to try and get me out of it. Pine resin is kind of easing the way, but it's going to pine resin all over the place, isn't it? So, the result is kind of a jumbled mess, but the weight of the beverage means that it'll stand up to some heavy food like a Primanti's sandwich and still be flavorful.
Tip-in is almost dry as the resin sets up shop and the dank starts to... dank. The middle sloshes in with a smoothing of citrus that eases the dank and the pine quite a bit; hell, this is tasty! The finish is bitter, crisp, a little more dank, and a little more dry.
Bottom Line: It has some bright spots.
