Hey, you guys remember when I last reviewed a Xül beer? Well, I didn't. They appear to be in a part of Knoxville that has a very high ratio of breweries to buildings. Indeed, this is just 1500 feet away from the front door of famed Yee Haw Brewing. If they can be as good as their neighbors, they are gonna be pretty darn good.
The yellow beer is infused with significant haze. The nicely tiny bubbles leave a pretty much permanent cap that will absolutely be leaving lacing as it goes down. The aroma is stark citrus, and I wouldn't have expected to smell bitterness this clearly, but my mouth is salivating from the palpable bitterness that virtually erputs from the top of the beverage.
First sip is not the bitterness my nose told me to expect. Instead, it's almost sweet with fruit juices just hopping up and down on the tongue. It is a particularly good sip, and I want to do more of it. However, that is not the way. Instead, we shall swig.
Tip-in is almost dry, but the orange and grapefruit are managing to let you know there is juice about this beer. The middle is trying to bring all the flavors as pine hints as an appearance under a citrus fountain with oatmeal flakes. The finish is a whip-crack of tame bitterness as the fruits bring peels before a vaguely sweet and citrus trail off.
