This is our last beer in the pack, and I'm looking to end on a high note. The last one was pretty good, and I would definitely have it again. Maybe this one will put a little cherry on top. The word Necatron has a little registered trademark icon next to it, and that would seem to me to be the hop that is a registered trademark rather than the name of the beer. I have never heard of this kind of hop, and I assume most other people haven't, either. So, maybe they registered the trademark of the beer name? Seems odd.
From the looks of it, this beer is finishing off the pack as yet another beer that just kind of looks like orange juice. This one is significantly lighter than orange juice, however, so I'm not sure many people would be fooled. The head doesn't stick around for long, but a thin layer is left once it scurries away. Unlike the previous beer, the aroma is really hard to detect until you're right down in it. The result is tropical fruit with flowers adorning it. This doesn't smell particularly juicy, fruity, tart, or sweet. It doesn't smell like a bunch, but I said that the smell was pretty faint to begin with.
First sip is precisely the kind of thing I look for in a pale ale. I enjoyed the previous beverage because it reminded me a lot of an IPA, and I really enjoy IPAs. This one is not to pretending to be an IPA at lower ABV. Instead, this is a pale ale with a very good tropical hop at its base. I have come to view pale ales as the smaller sibling of an IPA, but they have their own curiosities and flavor profiles to go for. This one is very nice, approachable, and even in some respects subtle. The fruits seem to last a while on the tongue, and all bitter bite is avoided. The result isn't easy to drink beer that compliments a more flavor-filled kind of food or a deep conversation with friends.
Tip-in is negligible carbonation with surprisingly sweet mango and nectarine on top of grapefruit. The middle sends carbonation to the roof of the mouth where it makes more of a commotion than it needs to while the fruits get significantly thinner in the center of the mouth. The finish is a little tart and a little bitter before fruit skins carry the sweetness off into the trail off.
