The straw gold beer erupts with an off-white head of tiny bubbles that leaves enough lacing to keep it interesting as it recedes. The aroma is already making me question why I take time to do the reviews and I don't just enjoy the experience of drinking the beer. I mean, the sweet beer brings grapefruit, mango, and oranges to the table, and I want to dive in and drink my way out of the deliciousness.
First sip is not quite as juicy as the aroma made me believe, but it's a nice and robust mix of the fruits with oats from the malt. The result is a more sedate and dry affair that still has a sparkle of fruit to it as it goes down. Maybe I was thinking about the smell for too long, and the reality of the sip was not up to it. I shall try the gulp.
Tip-in is gentle carbonation tingle with ephemeral grapefruit, orange, and mango, and the bitterness seems to be coming in with them. The middle becomes a bit more raucous with the carbonation, and the fruits are too subdued to deal with it or the rising oat malt. The finish is a surge of fruits before bitterness and dryness take over for the trail off.
