I got another multi-pack. So, get ready for an influx of cider reviews from this Texas-based company that, for some reason, also produces things in Michigan. Once again, the manufacturer of the beverage doesn't actually know where the beverage was created, so they just put both on the can and smack you on the butt and tell you good luck. I'm not a fan of this method of packaging. I understand the concept of having a single recipe that has to be in made more than one location, but each location should be able to put their address on the can. There's no need to have some unified label that includes every location. That reeks of penny pinching and not the attention to detail that I like to see.
I don't know if it's going to come across in the pictures, but this is a heavily carbonated beverage. The head doesn't stay around very long, but there are so many points of nucleation that it is almost like a reverse rainfall. It's not quite as good as the Guinness reverse cascade, but it's pretty good. The golden beverage produces white bubbles that do not hang around for very long. The aroma is, expectedly, apples. I'm not smelling any of the alcohol, but the apples smell tart instead of sweet, which will probably lend itself to a fairly good dry cider.
First sip appears sweet at first, but the sweet goes away quick enough to turn this beverage into the dry concoction that the label would lead me to believe was intended. I think this might be one of those things where a sip is not enough to really get an idea of the beverage, but it's not bad so far. There's just not a whole lot to it. It's got apples, it's a little tangy, and it's dry. Not much more to say.
Tip in is more tart then sweet apples with very light alcohol and very light carbonation alongside it. The middle strangely intensifies the sweetness as the beverage becomes smooth and quite enjoyable with its apple meat. The finish is where the dry has been waiting, and it does a nice counterbalance to the general wateriness of the middle of the beverage.
