I got one of these bottles when I went to the store, and it's been waiting for my judgement. In the interim, I ran low on beer, and I went to the same store... and got another bottle. I forgot what I had waiting for me, so I hope this is good. After all, I already have two bottles of this stuff. On the plus side, the percentage of bad creams I've had is pretty darn low, so this has a good shot of being alright.
The cream is a dirty tan. The aroma is significantly more pungent than other creams I've had, and the bourbon is not content to be silent in the background. It's not that it is not tempered by the softness of the cream, but the alcohol will not be denied! This may be a mistake. I shouldn't hove gotten two bottles.
First sip has all that bourbon, but the cream does exactly what it is supposed to do. I'm not dealing with a full glass of bourbon, but I'm not dealing with a cream that doesn't want me to know what my beverage is. I'm certainly not asserting that this is superior to the creams that manage to cover the alcohol almost completely, but this is doing something different, and it is doing it well.
As I continue to drink it, it doesn't seem to get better or worse. Strangely, my mouth does not become desensitized to it an the way that most past creams have. I'm not upset by this, but it also does not endear the beverage to me.
Bottom Line: Different. Not bad.
