So, I don't actually know what this is supposed to taste like. Going in, most creams give you some fantastical name so you can try and figure out what it will be like, but... is this supposed to be like chocolate milk? Is it supposed to taste like flavored moonshine? Those two things do not taste like each other in any way. One is creamy and smooth, and the other tastes like burning.
The cream is significantly more off-white than normal. It is not quite dark enough to be a proper chocolate milk, but if you imagine a mother trying to get her child to drink milk and telling them that she will make it a chocolate milk... then she does just enough to make it slightly chocolatey, you have an approximation for this. The aroma is kind of an antiseptic chocolate, and I guess that grocks, if this is moonshine, cream, and chocolate.First sip is not nearly as moonshine as it is cream. The 17% ABV should have told me that they showed some restraint in adding the moonshine, but I didn't actually pay much attention to the label. The result is a thick chocolate milk that definitely has adult-beverage going on, but it's smooth and sweet in other respects.
Subsequent sips remind me of the warmth that travels the whole way down the throat and nestles in the belly. The cream, as opposed to just straight moonshine, does it in a very slow and calm way that actually improves the process as if you are enjoying a good meal and savoring every bite. The flavors are simple, but they are good. And the result is a beverage I can enjoy.
Bottom Line: Smooth and silky with chocolate and tranquility.
