These local boys probably put out a lot more varieties than I have seen. I assume the brewery is piloting new beers all the time, but only a few ever get out in cans to stores. All of the microbreweries I have frequented are just like that, and there are some real gems that never make it to my blog, as there's no take-home version (this side of growlers, and I have issues with those).
This thing spits out head as aggressively as I've ever seen. It has taken so long to fill this glass that I almost forgot that I was doing a review on this beer. In the future, I'll likely pour a bit of the beer into a glass, let it settle, drink a bit, and then go through the process again. The yellow beer has a bit of a haze to it under that immense white head. The aroma is quite inviting with pomegranate, bread, and some spices.First sip is crisp and clean with a bit of a lingering fog. The pomegranate is strong, but the bitterness gives it a dry kick that is strong enough to change things, but it's soft enough not to be smacking the tongue around. As a sip, it's spice-filled and solid. I could see sipping this quite a bit (and I may be forced to, based on the way it pours).
Tip-in is a moderate simmer of carbonation with pomegranate just brushing the tongue and grains backing it. The middle flows in with furious carbonation above a very nicely balanced bitterness and tartness with the pomegranate. The finish finally comes in with heavy grains to back up the pomegranate and the carbonation goes away to allow spices to hit the ail off.
Bottom Line: It was pretty good at first, and now it's growing on me.
